As chocolate and language experts, we gave a chocolate tasting class! We guided participants on how to taste and talk about chocolate. We shared the fascinating history of chocolate and how chocolate is made. Then, we guided participants through the best part: an extensive chocolate tasting and describing chocolate, like flavors of butter and caramel and aromas of vanilla and honey. The class was interactive, so participants were able to ask questions, share their tasting thoughts, and compare with others in the class. The venue was held at Gilman Barracks, an extension of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, where Keri teaches.
As a class, we shared our favorite chocolates, when we eat the chocolate, and what we consider when buying chocolate, such as labeling, cost, familiarity, and flavor.
