Teaching at Universidad Pedagogica Nacional Francisco Morazan, Tegucigalpa, Honduras

We had the privilege of being part of the Universidad Pedagogica Nacional Francisco Morazan (UPNFM), Tegucigalpa, Honduras, this spring. The university is one of two public universities in the capital, besides Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras (UNAH). The main campus has 7,000 students, and up to 20,000 including the students attending one of the 13 satellite campuses. Also known as the Teacher’s College, UPNFM’s main mission is to train students to become teachers. I was part of the Tourism and Hospitality Department, teaching English for Tourism.

Food & Beverage Class with Irma Maas

After teaching, I would attend a really fun class taught by Irma Maas: Food & Beverage Hospitality. I learned so much, from setting the table to writing contracts for catering events to making cocktails to serving wine, coffee, and water, to making appetizers for university events.
